Potato Au Gratin - (Iftar 7 Ramadhan 1432H)


Tak tau nak masak apa for iftar & my sis kata buat la Potato Au Gratin ... maka ini la hasilnya. Sempoi je nak sediakan. Sedap & berbaloi. The only mistake I made was to buy the wrong type of potato. So, agak kurang empuk sket kentang ni. Kurang pasti sebenarnya kentang apa yg sesuai. Kalau x mmg superb lah! Nak bake lama2, nnt jadi kering x syok makan. Ni pun dah agak kering gravy nya sbb nak empuk kan kentang tu. Maybe next time kalau guna kentang biasa2 tu I nak rebuskan sekejap sblm atur dlm baking dish.

Gratin (pronounced: [gʁa.tɛ̃]) is a widespread culinary technique in food preparation in which an ingredient is topped with a browned crust, often using breadcrumbs, grated cheese, egg and/or butter.[1][2][3] Gratin originated in French cuisine and is usually prepared in a shallow dish of some kind. A gratin is baked or cooked under an overhead grill or broiler to form a golden crust on top and is traditionally served in its baking dish.

Pada yg nak cuba, resepinya spt di bawah.

POTATO AU GRATIN

4 biji kentang - slice
100 ml chicken stock
200 ml whipping cream
1 egg yolk
1 bulb garlic - just buang kulit, xyah potong.
salt & pepper
paprika (optional, since I xde ... I gantikan dgn cajun powder)
cheddar n mozarella cheese secukupnya
breadcrumb (optional, xde pon ok je)
fresh/dried herbs - basil/rosemary ke ..



susun sliced potatoes dlm baking tin, layer kan. then tuang chicken stock. boleh sprinkle some pepper powder in between layers if suka. whipping cream & egg yolk tu gaul mesra & tuang atas kentang tu, just enuff to cover ye. tabur cheese, breadcrumb & herbs. campak garlic atasnya (kalau x suka, x perlu letak). bakar lebih kurang 30 mins.

  1. I kalau buat Potato Au Gratin guna resepi yang famous kat allrecipes. Tapi I rebus kejap. So, bila bake tu tak lama & sauce dia moist je..Ada special potatoes utk resepi ni. Tp I guna yg biasa je..
